Control-panel

The control-panel is divided into four parts. From left to right, a status window, a message window (this is also the mini-buffer location), a mode-name window (which indicates the current mode) and buttons (see figure §2.1 page gif).

In the status window, an 'S' is displayed if the buffer has been modified and not saved.

The six buttons are used to move through the buffer (top, bottom, smooth scroll up and down, previous and next page).
