Degree Requirements

The following is a brief summary of degree requirements. For complete information and restrictions, please consult the University of Missouri - St. Louis Bulletin appropriate to you.

I. All general education requirements of the University. Courses in the major may be applied to satisfy the Mathematical Skills requirement, and the Natural Sciences or Mathematics requirements. Related Area courses may be used to meet other distribution requirements if appropriate.

II. The following course work in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science is required. (Must be completed with a grade of C- or higher)

2. Mathematics and Statistics

1320 Applied Statistics I

1800 Analytic Geometry and Calculus I

4458 Ethics and the Computer

4. Five more elective courses in the department, numbered above 3000 if in computer science or above 2010 if in mathematics or statistics. At least three of these elective courses must be in computer science, and at least one must be in mathematics or statistics.

5. Satisfy the related area requirement

   Students must satisfy the requirements in two of the groups listed under Related Area Requirements with a grade of C- or better.

   Students seeking a double degree, either within the department or with another department, do not have to fulfill the related area requirement.
