Selected Research Involvements
- Music Identification. The startup folded
after a few years. I developed music recognition and retrieval system
based on 5-sec samples.
- Statistical Methods for Recursively
Partitioned Trees, Co-PI, supported by NIH. The objective was to improve
decision trees based on local search.
- Fuzzy Decision Trees,
supported by NSF. I bootstrapped the field.
- Constrained Genetic Programming , in collaboration with NASA/JSC,
partly funded by NASA/JSC and UMRB. This
tutorial was presented at GP98.
This

- Chair of FEA97 and FEA98, International
Workshop on Frontiers in Evolutionary Algorithms, held with the Joint Conference on Information
Sciences.
- Optimization of the Air Mobility Command
(AMC) fleet, as a part of the Business Decision Model (ABDM), under Seidcon and Unisys.
